![]() ![]() ![]() Maybe a developer could add something here?Īnyway, I hope the "inline" trick works for you and you get it to do what's needed. You can flow text around images (or not try not having text flow around an image in a wordprocessor yet this may be a desired layout feature in DTP), superimpose images on text (or vice versa), and create color separations for printing. Your requirement has already been discussed in Mantis (see and for two examples) but I don't know if there are any plans for the future. This is an example where that precise control over size and spacing is absolutely necessary. Does anyone else have this issue or is it just me being an idiot? All it does is insert the name of the image file into the text no matter what I try. It might just be a Mac thing, or just my setup, or I'm doing it all wrong, but I just can't get it to work. However, there does seem to be something called "inline graphics" - where the image is actually in the text frame - and it's mentioned briefly in the Scribus Manual/Help (under "Working with Text") but I've not been able to use this technique myself. (You'll also need to make sure the relevant - default - option is checked in the Layers palette.)Īs for your question, currently - 1.4.2 - Scribus can't automatically move normal image frames in relation to other frames (or the contents of another frame). ![]() Scribus is free, professional desktop publishing software similar to Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress. Scribus Lesson 10 - Flow Text Around Image Frame. If you do put images and text onto different layers and you need to use the "text flow around" options you should put the images layer above the text layer, otherwise the text won't flow. How to set text flow around photos This article is part of the HOWTOs series. First, I think a quick note about your initial technique - splitting images and text onto different layers - may be of some use to other people who might want to try it. ![]()
